Marguerite Allen Tindal Cuttino and
Mary Cuttino Snyder

Miss Marguerite Allen Tindal became the bride of Mr. Charles Lynam Cuttino on Wednesday, September 23, 1903, at her father's home near Pinewood. Miss Tindal's father, the Honorable James Ezra Tindal, served as South Carolina Secretary of State from 1890 until 1894.

Marguerite and Charles were the parents of Judge Charles L. Cuttino, Jr., Edwin Cotesworth Cuttino (elected to Sumter Sports Hall of Fame, 1985), Colonel Thomas E. Cuttino, Mary Cuttino Snyder (author of "Swan Lake Gardens & Mr. Bland"), and Marguerite Cuttino Haynesworth.

In June 1938, Marguerite Tindal's daughter, Miss Mary Cuttino wore this dress at her marriage to Dr. Wesley James Snyder. Miss Cuttino modified her mother's 1903 gown with its high net collar and mutton sleeves by slashing the neckline and reworking the sleeves.
